Got to shoot with my dear friend Corey Martin Friday while he was in town. More to come, this is only a preview.

While I'm here, have a good tune to please your ears.

Family Style

Dress; Vera Wang for Kohl's | Boots; Dolce Vita | Jewelry; Vintage

So Demi took my family's portraits about a month ago. Yes, I know I'm behind with these, haha. It was definitely an... Interesting experience to say the least. My family hadn't gotten portraits done since early '09, so it was well overdue. Both Demi and I had to help pose everyone because no one else knew what they were doing lolol. Good times though, I don't know where I'd be without them. My parents have always been so supportive of me, no matter what paths I've decided to go down in life. I'm incredibly blessed to have the family that I do.

Film

Photos by Mariaya Tallett

I love these images. There's something so real, so pure about film. What you see is what you get. There is no photoshop, no editing. Just real life, the very moment captured just as it was.

I'm at a point in my life in which any decision I make, or could make, feels wrong. I'm lost. I feel like I'm cheating on something/someone I don't even have. I thought about just doing nothing, not making any decisions. But this stagnancy feels just as wrong as anything else.

Yikes

I've been pretty bad at blogging recently. I've been sick the past 8-9, which is the majority of it. I had my state board test in the midst of the illness as well, which was incredibly stressful. I wasn't sure if I was going to make it through the entire practical part without fainting, it was so bad. But praise God, I made it through, and I passed. I'm now officially a licensed cosmetologist in California, and I'm FINALLY starting to recover from this illness that's been plaguing me. I've also got an interview in the morning for an assistant position at a pretty high end salon here in town, so pray for me for that. I'd be stoked to get this.

Here are the Victory Cafe staff portraits that our in house photographer, Andrew Hunter took awhile back inside the venue. I think they came out pretty bad ass. Ya'll should definitely check out his work, everything he puts out is pure gold.

And this has been a mini life update. Regular blogging will (hopefully) return soon.
