Deep Underground

It's like I'm staring back at my old self, the self that left me with the consequences that still weigh me down to this very day.

Wednesday night, I got to see one of my current favorite bands, Portland natives Rare Monk. Over summer I had gone to see a friend's band play a show which Rare Monk was also on. I'd never heard of Rare Monk before, but once I saw them setting up and bring out an electric violin, I knew it was going to be good. And boy, was I right. I fell in love with the ethereal and slightly galactic psychedelic rock immediately. Not to mention, they're extremely kind and grateful guys. Today they debuted their music video "Underground" which you can check out here.

They also have all their albums up for free download on their BandCamp should you fall in love as quickly as I have.

Here's their video for "Shoot Me Down"

Enjoy!

Nevermore

Leggings; ANGL | Top & necklace; Forever 21 | Boots; Kohl's

Photos by Megan Lane

So I was totally channeling my inner raven yesterday. Why, is beyond me, but I woke up feeling like I should be more bird like. Anyway, how awesome are these legging?! I've seen similar for upwards of $75, so the $35 for these was pretty perfect. Yay for grad money!
So, yeah, I graduated on Saturday, and it's weird. I really don't know what to do with myself, or what the next step in life is (besides the obvious... take my state board and then get a job). I don't know. I don't think all this is going to be forever. I'm not really sure what I'm expecting I guess. Life, man.

10th Tribe Lioness

Beanie; 10th Tribe | Shorts; Unif via Wasteland | Shoes; Jeffrey Campbell via Miss KL | Top; Forever21 | Knee Highs; Target| Bracelet; Azkara | Ring; Wasteland | Earring; Love Culture

Thanks to Demi Rueda for the photos!

I was so stoked when I got in 10th Tribe's limited edition Violent Youth Beanie, that I texted Demi immediately to do a shoot showcasing it. It is the most perfect beanie. Paired with my Unif shorts and JC's with knee highs made for the perfect match. Demi also said that I let out my inner lioness during this shoot. Fierce. Haha.

So things have been crazy for me lately. I have two days left of school I graduate Saturday. I have my state board test to get my license April 3rd. This weekend was spent with Phinehas who crashed with me before their show at Victory Cafe on Tuesday.

Ended up having to transfer half their gear in my car while their van was out of commission.

Officially ending this school in Phase Two, Paul Mitchell's honor program. This rose that looks like the piranha plants in all the Mario games proves it.

However though, I came home from school today with a low grade fever. Let's pray that I can kick this tonight and don't wake up feeling worse in the morning. I only have two days of school left, I don't want to push back my grad date any more!

Hope you all are doing well.

Untamed

ThreadSence Spring '13 Lookbook

I apologize for the photo overload, I couldn't help myself. When I laid eyes on ThreadSence's Untamed lookbook, I was captivated. Never have I more strongly felt wanderlust consume me. I literally want to live in this lookbook. The scenery of the Santa Barbara mountains, the gorgeous gypsy bohemian ensembles. I can't get enough.
These overwhelming feelings are making me miss touring so, so much. If you guys didn't know, I used to tour with a couple different bands with the title of Merchandise Manager. The year that I spent touring was probably the best of my life. Waking up in a different city every day, getting to see all the different landscapes and people and cultures all throughout Northern America. I miss it. My inner free spirit is longing for that life again. I don't think I have ever felt more contented than I did those days and nights spent on the road.

I long for that again.
