Birthday Weekend

Jacket; Fashion Island
Lace bells; Urban Outfitters
Purse; Kardashian Kollection via Sears

My lovely friend Mariaya took these photos of me a few days ago for a school project. I kind of love how my hair matches in with all the brick.
So, I'm officially 24. My birthday started out amazingly, as I got to hang out with my best friend Megan, as well as some friends from LA/OC, who happen to be in a band called Heartist. They're a pretty new band, and I'm proud of them all already. They've got big things coming. Anyway, we were all at In-N-Out when it hit my birthday at midnight, and they all started singing "Happy Birthday" at the top of their lungs to me. Pretty sure I blushed real hard.

Megan somehow managed to lurk all of us without us noticing.
Then, this happened.

So, my birthday has been off to a great start. Let's hope this year continues on as so.
To everyone I was blessed enough to spend my birthday with, I love you all!!

On Leaving

Crop top & Forest ring; The Laundry Room
Jeans; Azkara
Boots; Dolce Vita via Marshall's
Turquoise rings/necklace; Vintage
Arrowhead necklace; DIY'd by a friend

Snapped these real quick before heading out the door Friday night. These are the only pair of jeans that have ever fit me correctly. Sometimes it's quite the pain having a tiny waist and larger hips/backside. If it wasn't for it being hard to find pants that fit though, I wouldn't be complaining. This Forest ring from The Laundry Room is my absolute favorite! The Laundry Room is hands down my favorite boutique here in town. They stock a lot of rad brands like Unif, Motel, and Jeffrey Campbell for instance. How can you say no to that?! Also, these boots. I FINALLY have a pair of ankle boots that aren't black. I got them at Marshall's, all thanks to the gift card giveaway I won through Le Minimalist's blog. Thanks again for that girl!

Hope ya'll have had a rad weekend!

Flashback

Being as my 24th birthday is just next week, I thought it would be fun to post photos from the very first photo shoot I did, two and a half years ago. March 2010, I do believe it was.

All photos by Renae Lorraine

Haha! I was so awkward back in the day. Boy does time fly.

Copper Haired

Top; Forever 21
Blazer; Forever 21
Pyramid and Forest rings; The Laundry Room
Leatherette pants; H&M
Gold cuff; Forever 21
Leather bracelet; Ooh La La
Wedge sneakers; Wanted via Marshall's

So.. I feel pretty ridiculous for having fried off my hair getting it to platinum and not even wanting to keep it. I've pretty much decided I'm not meant to be a blonde, ever. I am absolutely in love with my new cool copper hair color though! So much better than the blonde. Since I got it colored, trimmed up, and styled today, I had to hit up Megan to get some photos of it.  Plus, I could NOT WAIT to wear these new Wanted wedge sneakers I got! I won Le Minimalist's blog giveaway, in which I won a $100 Marshall's gift card. These sneakers are just one of the goodies I made away with. I am in love. The gorgeous chocolate brown color, and the wedge on this sneaker are perfection. Not to mention they're extremely comfy.
PRAISE DA LAWD it is FINALLY starting to cool of here in California's central valley. I haven't worn this blazer in ages due to the unruly hot weather conditions, so I was unbelievably stoked to pull this baby out again. It's my absolute favorite. I love the cut, the shoulders, and the lovely dusty rose color.
BRING ON AUTUMN!!!

BAMF

Top; Forever 21
Studded leather jacket; some boutique somewhere in La Selva
Shorts; vintage
Boots; Reflections
Purse; Kardashan Kollection via Sears
Forest ring; The Laundry Room

So far this weekend has been amazing. Friday night I headed out to local venue Fulton 55 to see my friends in Adventure Galley play (I've posted their music video for "Weekend Lovers" on here before). They never fail to disappoint, and I danced my ass off. You just can't help it with their tunes.
Then yesterday after class, I went out with my friends Megan, and her boyfriend Davie. Went to the $3 theater and finally saw The Avengers. It may just be my new favorite movie. SO. GOOD. This is also where Megan captured this first random shot of me. Attitude on full blast. I was beyond stoked that it finally cooled off enough for me to pull out my favorite ever jacket as well. Then we headed over to Mickey's to get some delicious frozen yogurt, and come in this second photo. Some guys stopped at a stoplight right outside the shop in a jeep were yelling crap at us through a megaphone or something. I was pretty annoyed with them, and pretty much flipped them off and yelled back "You're so fucking cool bro!" Don't people have anything better to do with their lives?
Another thing. Both the $3 theater and this froyo shop were in Clovis, which is literally next door to Fresno where I live. It literally just transitions from Fresno to Clovis in a matter of just a street. The thing about Clovis though. For the most part, it's filled with bros, cowboys/girls, and rich spoiled little Barbies. All three of us who went are are tattooed, have facial piercings, and dress more alternatively. The number of people who stared at us in horror or distaste was unbelievable. Sorry I don't dress like you. Sorry I don't conform to this preppy Barbie and Ken style. People are so fucking closed minded, it sickens me. After last night, I was reminded of why I try to stay out of Clovis.
Rant over.
