Snow Leopard Queen

Leopard bodycon dress; H&M, $20
Stone & feather necklace; Forever 21, $8
Cross ring; Ooh La La, $12
Vintage turquoise rings; gifted
Shoes; Dolce Vita, $60

Let me begin by saying I am SO excited it is now the weekend and I can sleep in as late as I want, and.. I CAN WEAR WHATEVER I WANT IN WHATEVER COLOR I WANT! Needless to say, I was incredibly excited to get dressed up and go out tonight. I've been volunteering at a nonprofit venue, called Kuppajoe, for the past three years now. We hold shows/concerts/whatever you want to call them every Friday night. I'm usually working the door (come say hi and give me your money). But anyway, since I finally have the opportunity to go out and wear what I want, I decided to give this dress it's debut tonight. I love leopard print, especially when it's in grays, whites, and blacks. Needless to say, I've found my new favorite dress. And as always, I have to dress everything up with jewels and accessories (it's become an obsession). Got quite a few compliments on my getup tonight, so I'd say it was a success. Hope you all have a great weekend!

School Uniform

Top; H&M
Pants; H&M
Vintage rings; gifts

I have unfortunately been living in black lately (not by choice). Paul Mitchell requires all their students to wear straight black (no colored prints or patterns, or even shoelaces that aren't black), and I'm more than tired of it already after only two weeks. But, I have to make the most of it, which is why I try to find pieces made of different materials to at least give it some sort of texture. Like this lace overlay blouse. I would usually wear more jewelry to spice up the school uniform, but I more so wanted to show off the lace pattern on the top. I get way too excited for the weekends now just because I can wear color and patterns (and of course sleep in.. I will never get accustomed to getting up early. NEVER). It's going to be a long, mostly colorless year.

Obsessed, obsessed, obsessed! Now if only I could land this job I just interviewed for and have the money to spend on all of this..

AMERICA!

Shirt; Forever 21, $15
Vintage Gloria Vanderbilt Cut off shorts; The Laundry Room $32
Lace-up boots; Kohl's $40
Vintage turquoise ring; gift from grandmother
Cross ring; Ooh La La $12
Blue stone bracelet; Forever 21 $8
Leather braid bracelet; Ooh La La $5

I am absolutely in love with anything fringed and anything with an American style to it. So needless to say, this fringed top was a must have for me. My friend Mina is starting to build her photography website, and asked me to model for her for some samples of her work to put on there. We drove out to the outskirts of Madera, and came across this red, white, and blue barn. Absolutely perfect location, I fell in love with it, even though it was a bit torn up. I had to laugh at Mina the whole time, she was afraid we were going to get attacked or the police would come or something. Super fun shoot though, minus how disgustingly hot it was outside.

Slackin'

Shoes; Dolce Vita, $60
Shorts; Urban Outfitters, $10
Tights; Urban Outfitters, $5
Sheer button up blouse; Ooh La La, $30

Been slackin' pretty badly on the posts over here. Finally started classes at Paul Mitchell this week. Been pretty crazy trying to get adjusted to the new schedule. Full time, 9:30am-5pm every day.. And this coming from someone who's used to going to bed at 6am. Still getting adjusted. Enjoying it though. Anyway, here's some shots from the last time I wore something that wasn't classified as school uniform. One of my new favorite outfits.

70's Chic

Lace Bells from Urban Outfitters, $10
Shoes: Dolce Vita Joannas, $60
Dusty Rose Blazer from Forever 21, $30
Teal Crop Top from The Laundry Room, $5
Beaded Necklace from Forever 21, $8

I have been DYING to get some lace bells for quite some time, and when I stumbled across these in the Urban Outfitters sale sections, it was a purchase I couldn't turn down. Beautiful black lace bells for only $10?! What a steal! Fell in love with them immediately. I am also totally in love with this pair of Dolce Vitas which I also managed to find in Urban Outfitters sale section. One of their employees told me that those platforms had just been sitting around for months. How no one picked them up at such a great price is beyond me! (Okay, I guess not really.. Most of Fresno isn't very.. fashion savvy I guess you'd say. A blessing for me in this case).

Little Red Dress

So before heading down to San Diego to spend some quality time with my man, I stopped in Los Angeles to help out my friends in Young And Ukraine Vintage with their online store, and model some of their newer items. This 1970's Joy Stevens maxi dress was my absolute favorite. The open back of this dress is absolutely gorgeous, especially with how it ties. I don't wear red very often, but I couldn't help but love the color on this dress. Not to mention how perfectly it hugs the body and shows off your curves.

So I'm completely new to this whole fashion/style blogging, but I wanted to give it all a try. I guess I'll just introduce myself. Name's Madeline, 23 year old living in central California. I'm starting cosmetology school in just a couple weeks at Paul Mitchell, which I am beyond excited for! I've been interested in fashion for the past several years, but really dove into it just this past year, and I'm falling more and more in love with styling. I love the intricacy of placing different pieces of clothing and jewelry together to create an aesthetically pleasing end product. I've definitely got a unique sense of style with the way I combine different items. Anyway, I guess we'll see how this goes. xo
